Luciano's house in Punta del Diablo, Uruguay.

Luciano
, with the help of his family and friends, is building this house in Punta del Diablo, Uruguay. The structure of the house is made of wood and uses a traditional building technique called quincha. The walls us
e branches of acacia filled with a daub of mud and straw.

The thick external and internal plaster is made with clay. The fine plasters and paint are made with sand and lime. The home is off-grid so Luciano built a solar panel, a cistern for collecting rainwater from the roof and a composting toilet (below right) making the home a fully self-sufficient house. For more information you can contact Luciano (Facebook profile).
