Scorpionweed, or Tansy, is one of the best honey producing flowers for honey bees. Scorpionweed belongs to the Phacelia family which comes from North America, with most species originating in California. It is very rich in both nectar and pollen with lavender coloured flowers that attract bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects like a magnet.

It is used as a biological control method by planting it along field margins to attract insects such as hoverflies which then control pests  like aphids that affect crops. Scorpionweed blooms around 45-60 days per year producing nectar continuously throughout the day. It can be seeded several times per year. Scorpionweed honey is an amber or sometimes light green colour, with a delicate aroma.
