This is the owl tower at Assington Mill in Suffolk, England. It's a two storey load bearing straw bale barn. The ground and first floor are for bird-watching and the roof space for barn owls. It has a green onduline (that's recycled cellulose fibreboard) roof over lime plastered walls. It was built by Amazonails [now Straw Works and Straw Build] in 2008. In 2009 a pair of barn owls moved in and since then seven barn owl chicks have been raised by the couple.
