Sadly poaching, logging and slash-and-burn farming are destroying primary forest and its inhabitants in South East Asia. Local people built treehouses and a network of zip lines through the canopy of Bokeo Nature Reserve to provide accommodation in the treetops to study the wildlife. The funds raised are invested to provide 24 hour protection of the 123,000 hectare forest reserve.

This is treehouse No.5 at The Gibbon Experience in the jungle of Bokeo, Laos. A recent visitor to the reserve commented, “The sun brought with it a magical and mystical sight. The deep forest mist within the valley was pierced by an orange-reddish ball of light, creating with it an image that you wouldn’t dream could be possible outside of constructed works of fantasy”.
