This is the tea room in a small English village called
Selworthy in Somerset. It's famous from a natural building
perspective because it has more than 3,000 moss plants on its
thatched roof, the largest known population of thatch moss
anywhere in the world. The increasingly rare thatch moss is found
as dull green patches on old thatched roofs. The tiny leaves are
spear-shaped, a unique characteristic found on no other British
moss. Find out more about the relationship between
thatch and moss. |
